Images are merging into a collective hallucination reconfigured and accessed by willing and unwilling explorers. In this research workshop we will explore the ways we process our memories with the new technologies. Our prompts are the throughput to new memories that run together like syrup in the cloud only to emerge revised, with altered memories like a negative feedback loop.
GenAI Research Workshop 001.01 2024
Mushing up my memories through reverse dreaming.
Sort of a thick milky recall.
Reminders of that time when you were sitting in that kitchen in dad’s old restaurant. I remember the smell of pepperoni pizza in the air and all the fresh fries you could eat.
Where social blurring could lead to erosion.
As AI-generated content becomes more prevalent, there may be a blurring of the lines between what is real and what is artificially generated. This could impact collective memory and historical accuracy, making it difficult to distinguish fact from fiction.
Over time, the creation of highly realistic and convincing images, including fake photographs and videos, may lead to a skepticism about the authenticity of visual content. People might become more cautious about believing what they see, which could have consequences for how historical events and social narratives are perceived.
Misuse of AI-generated images could lead to the manipulation of historical records and memories. For instance, individuals or organizations might create fake images to support particular narratives or ideologies, distorting historical events.
